Truly a loss to the art world. I remember seeing examples of some concept work he was doing at S.C.A.D. where he did faint marker layouts on one side so when you flipped them over the backgrounds had a cool ink-washed effect. I immediately started collecting and following his work. I am always inspired by his work, from his insanely detailed backgrounds and some great sequential storytelling, to all his concept/character design work. I was hoping this was just a joke. His talent was intimidating but always exciting and inspiring.
i heard he had some health issues, but i had no idea it was this serious. this is a huge disappointment. that guy drew the coolest tech-gear and the way he drew baggy clothing/pads/tactical suits was just amazing. this is really bumming me out.
Clement Sauvé, an artist best known in comics circles for his work on some cutting-edge genre comics as well as being an early member of CBR's own fan community, passed away today after a long battle with cancer. He was 33 years old.
