This was another one of those "Dave, we need something so fast your hands will burn from the friction" kind of assignments. They wanted to homage the Bat Signal. Being lazy, and the fact that there was no time, I used a photo of the building and even the clouds to speed things up. I mean, I didn't even have enough time to trace one. But who cares, it's all about the graphic design anyways. Besides, I'm just doing what Wally Wood said to do all those years ago. And if it's good enough for Wally, it's good enough for me.

Regardless of methodology, this is a brilliant piece of work. "Necessity is the mother of invention", or somesuch. What's good enough for Wally Wood is good enough for anyone! :D

So I found out where this art was used.

First issue of the X-Men: To Serve and Protect arc. Newest volume of X-Men, issue #7.

I was re-reading the story arc now that the final issue is out, and when I saw the panel, I remembered this image.

So there you go. :-)
