Wolverine No. 7 by Devilpig Wolverine No. 7 by Devilpig
A variant cover for Wolverine #7 celebrating Captain America's 70th anniversary. Marvel is doing variant covers for most of their books for this occasion. I wanted to do something OTHER than the expected action shot that I know everybody else would be doing on their variant covers. And I thought "Round shield, round X logo, gotta do something with that in a 1970's flare". Not sure if it's all that successful, but at least it's different. I'm trying people. Growth can be painful.

As soon as I saw this, I thought "I'll never come up with a cover this interesting." So I'd say it's plenty successful.

I like it. Like you said, it's a refreshing change from the action shot. I prefer this kind of cover to action shots most of the time anyway. It feels more permanent, if you know what I mean.

I love how you utilize great design elements in your covers. This ranks rigt up with your bullseye and other Punisher covers.

i think it's highly successful. great emotions on cap and wolvie and a creative way to tie in both logos and the grunge only ads more interest to the piece

Love it. Nice way to give some reference point to the characters with the circular symbols, and love the contrast created by the "old" yellow and the blue. Great job, and quite original; good u avoided the "action shot" cliche. keep experimenting dude, it works.

Awesome, wouldn't it kick ass to see a younger Logan fighting along side the Cap in WW2 in the new movie? it happened in the comics and they are trying to tie all the marvel movies together.

to know that someone who's as accomplished as yourself is still interested in growing is a great example for all here.

that in it of itself is successful in my book.
