This was a fun one. There is something so powerful about syringes in artwork. It's funny the worry publishers have about portraying drugs a glamorous, but how is sticking a needle in your arm glamorous? Even if as a kid I had seen a character shooting up, my reaction would be 'FUCK THAT! That's not for me.' but thankfully I don't have to worry about that with this cover. It's hard to imagine a kid seeing this cover and thinking to himself 'Hey, giant syringes stinking painfully in Punishers back! Let's go do Heroin!' but stranger things have happened I guess.
This was inked using the Pentel GFKP Brush Pen on kid finish Bristol board. This is by far the greatest art supply I have ever found. If you don't have one and you like to ink with brush from time to time, then you'd be foolish not to have one. It's great for nice clean inking and even better dry brush work because using it quick prevents the brush from filling back up too fast. As opposed to regular brushes that need to be dipped in ink and ruining the 'dry' effect. So Google the name already and get to ordering.
Seriously, why are you still reading this!?! I just gave you gold brother! Get on it.
God. The Punisher always has to take everything to the extreme. He can't just use a regular syringe for his drug addiction, he has to use a giant one. And one isn't enough, he needs four. We get it, Mr. Castle, you're totally crazy.
Fuckin Awesome piece.
thanks you for making this
