I bought the trades these covers were in when I was like, 16 or 17. I bought it solely based on the cover work. I remember thinking "This is so amazing, I want to do pictures that are so dynamic and amazing!" It was unlike anything else I'd ever seen in a mainstream comic book. I didn't really understand how comics worked back then+I was super dumb, so I was like "Wow, are comics going to be done in this sort of style now? That's wonderful, I'm so excited!"
I remember showing my friends going "This is what I want my stuff to be like!! Limited palettes! Negative shapes!"
So, yeah, you had a really big impact on tiny-me! Even if these are old to you, they made a really strong impact on how mainstream characters could still be done in a new, amazing way.
